Welcome to Clarinet Classics and
Saxophone Classics
As executive director of Saxophone Classics, I am delighted to announce that Sarah Markham is now officially Artistic Director of Saxophone Classics and under her directorship, supported by Stephen Cottrell as Label Consultant, they have many exciting recordings and initiatives planned for Saxophone Classics for next year and beyond.
As the website develops for both companies you will see more and more features added – from an expanding catalogue on CD and download to special features on our artists. Clarinet and Saxophone Classics will also expand to include a new educational and performance wing.
I will shortly announce special seasonal offers at the beginning of December so please watch this space!! Now that Royal Mail have assured us that there will be no further industrial action for the rest of this year, you can place your orders with confidence.
This has been a quieter year for releases from both companies, but before 2009 comes to a close I am very pleased to announce the release of the first recording by the Venezuelan clarinet player Jorge Montilla with his pianist Hamilton Tescarollo in a CD entitled La Revoltosa.
With my best wishes and appreciation of your continued custom, which ensures that the labels can continue to develop and flourish.
Victoria Soames Samek - Artistic Director
The Specialist label taking the saxophone seriously
Sarah Markham, Artistic Director of saxophone classics, writes, “These are exciting times for the saxophone. My generation of saxophonists were the first to graduate from UK music colleges and we are now teaching the next generation. The saxophone has come of age and the development of this new label will serve as a celebration of established repertoire and a resource for new as well as historic works.”
We now have a selection of historical saxophone recordings available for download at only 59p each!
